Report on Vocational Exhibition Day.
Introduction
The Vocational Exhibition Day was successfully held on 2nd October, 2025 at Kaberamaido Technical Institute. The event aimed to provide secondary school students with insights into various vocational opportunities, fostering career awareness and inspiring them to explore practical skills for their future. The exhibition brought together students, educators, and industry professionals in an engaging and interactive environment.
Participants
The event welcomed over 500 students in candidate classes from five secondary schools across the district of Kaberamaido. Representatives from various departments, local businesses, and skilled professionals were also present to showcase their expertise and guide the students.
Activities and Highlights
- Exhibition Stalls:
Various stalls were set up, each representing a different vocational field, including carpentry, tailoring, mechanics, agriculture, ICT, Building, Electrical and Agri-Processing. Students had the opportunity to interact with professionals, observe live demonstrations, and ask questions about career paths which crowned it all at the Institute’s main Hall. Workshops and Demonstrations:
Hands-on workshops were conducted, allowing students to try out basic skills such as coding, crafting, and cooking. These sessions were highly interactive and well-received by the participants. - Career Talks:
Industry experts delivered motivational talks, sharing their experiences and offering guidance on how to pursue vocational careers. Topics included the importance of technical skills, entrepreneurship, and the role of vocational training in economic development this was conducted by Opwono Irasa Daniel from registry department. - Competitions:
To make the event more engaging, competitions such as "Best Innovative Idea" and "Quick Skill Challenge" were organized. Winners were awarded certificates and small prizes to encourage their enthusiasm.
Impact and Feedback
The event was a resounding success, with students expressing excitement and newfound interest in vocational careers. Teachers and school administrators appreciated the initiative, noting its importance in bridging the gap between education and practical skills. Many students indicated they were inspired to explore vocational training as a viable career option.
Conclusion
The Vocational Exhibition Day achieved its goal of promoting vocational education and empowering students to consider diverse career opportunities.
